Science North Brings New Camps to Timmins

Registration is now open for Science North’s summer classes in Timmins.

Science North says it will be bringing a few different day camps to the city to help expand kid’s curiosity and knowledge around science. Marketing Specialist Julia Aelick says the centres is bringing both English and french classes to 35 northern communities, including Timmins, to expand its reach.

The camps are geared towards kids between five and 10 years old including:

  • Kurious Kids (English)

Ages five to six – Focuses on the question “why?” and expands curiosity.

  • Girls’ Science (English)

Ages six to eight – Each day takes a look at a different science and highlights the contributions that women have made in that field. Whether space, geology, ocean research or physics, girls will have the chance to explore these worlds from their own perspectives with lots of hands on activities.

  • Summer Science Camp (English)

Ages seven to 10 – All kinds of science through hands on activities and games. Aims to help kids discover and explore the world around them.

Aelick says the English camps run from July 9th to 13th and the french ones from July 16th to 20th.
