Pope Francis Elementary School Set to Open in September

Work is on pace to be finished before school starts at Pope Francis Elementary.

The Northeastern Catholic District School Board says the amalgamated Sacred Heart and St. Paul kindergarten to grade four school should be ready to host students by the beginning of the new school year. Director of Education Tricia Weltz says the board is very pleased with the progress being made.

Weltz says once complete, the main floor will be used for child care like the YMCA, and the renovations will house the classrooms. She says the site is receiving new materials every day to finish the project.

Weltz says the board is working with bus services to ensure all students will be able to get to the new school location. She says that information will be given to parents closure the beginning of the school year.
