Timmins Women Shine at Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards

Two Timmins women are being recognized with an Influential Women of Northern Ontario Awards.

Northern Ontario Business says these are given to women who making a difference in their community and contributing to the region’s economic success. NOB says there are seven awards including:

  • Executive
  • Entrepreneur
  • Young Entrepreneur
  • Aboriginal Leadership
  • Tradeswoman
  • Influential Community Trailblazer
  • Influential Women Essay Scholarships

Owner of Chic Baby and Kids Alicia Pirie won the Young Entrepreneur Award this year and says it’s an amazing honour.

Pirie says she was nominated last year by the Timmins Chamber of Commerce and never heard back, so getting the call this year was a major shock.

Miner at Goldcorp Porcupine Gold Mines Armanda Quinn received the Tradeswomen award.

Northern Ontario Business says nominations are now open for the 2019 Influential Women Awards. Click here for more information.
