The Timmins Museum along with Tourism Timmins has announced a concert called Soldiers of Song. The show is a World War One style concert party, honouring the original show called The Dumbells. Timmins Museum Curator, Karen Bachmann, says these concert parties helped to win nationhood in Canada during 1914 and 1918. She says the First World War concert parties happened right in the trenches, which was entertainment for the troops at that time. Canada had about 36 groups that were performing, the most famous one being The Dumbells.
The show is on November 21st and 22nd, and tickets are 20-dollars. They can be bought at the Timmins Museum.
