Illegal moose killing being investigated

The MNR, Crime Stoppers, and the South Porcupine OPP, are asking for the publics help in solving the illegal killing of a moose. On Monday, two men were seen standing over a dead moose on Highway 655 in the Carnegie Township. By the time authorities arrived, the moose had been gutted and the men were gone. They were driving a dark coloured Chevy or GM. An investigation showed the moose had been shot from across the highway, which is not legal. The rifle used was a 300 Magnum, which is high powered and potentially dangerous.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 705-268-8477 or provide your tip to Tip Submit
