Timmins Police have named the charges in Thursday’s high speed chase through the city. Police were called about an erratic driver in South Porcupine, which led to a high speed chase down 101 into Timmins. It ended at Rae and Polaris, but not before three police cars were hit, two of which are now a write off. Dean Naveau, 21 year old from Gogama, was driving a stolen pick up truck, had a concealed weapon, and assaulted officers. He has been charged with:
flight while pursued by police officer
dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
possession of property obtained by crime under $500
failure to stop at the scene of a collision
assault with a weapon
assault with intent to resist arrest
resist peace officer
assault peace officer
possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
carrying a concealed weapon
uttering threats
breach of probation
His bail hearing is set for today.
