OPP Officers are Watching for Distracted Drivers

Texting and Driving is a big focus for the OPP’s latest campaign.

The OPP says it will be doing a Distracted Driving Campaign throughout March break to remind you about the dangers around it. Constable Michelle Simard says officers will be on the look out for people using their phones while driving, as well as other things that could take your eyes off the road.

Simard says you may think that driving is a simple task, but it requires your full attention. She says campaigns like this are crucial.

If you are caught distracted driving, you could face a $490 fine, including a victim surcharge, and three demerit points.
