Educators and students will be immersing themselves in culture this week.
Northern College is hosting the 27th Annual Great Moon Gathering with the Mushkegowuk Council. Northern College Campus Manager Christine Bender says 350 educators from Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, Kashechewan and Moose Cree will learn from each other and host seminars on Indigenous education, language, values and strategies that support student success.
Bender says participants will also take part in traditional opening, closing and smudging ceremonies.
The Great Moon Gathering takes place at the Northern College campus on Thursday and Friday.
