Health Study coming to the North East

The 2014-2015 Ontario Child Health Study will be including schools from the North East. Stats Can will be inviting 7-thousand families to take part in the study, which will have kids aged 4 to 17 interviewed. The goal is to update the way child and youth mental health is studied. 240 schools will also be surveyed to help teachers promote and address mental health in their students. The interviews will run from now until May 2015.

“We would like our parents to know the importance of these surveys, and that they may
be contacted over the next few months,” says Director of Education, Linda Knight. “These
surveys will collect important information on the influence of the family, neighbourhood
and school environment on child and youth mental health. The results will be used to
develop programs and services to improve the mental health of young people in Ontario.”
