Stop signs are being installed at Pine Street North and Fifth Avenue tomorrow.

Based on recommendations from St. Mary’s Gardens and the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee, Timmins city council has voted to add the stop signs to the intersection. Council says this is a temporary measure until the permanent crossover can be installed in the spring or summer. The Timmins Police Service says the signs will be complete with advanced warnings and flashing red lights.

It has also being recommended that St. Mary’s install a stop sign and no left turn sign while exiting the property because of the configuration on the intersection. Police say until this happens, you are reminded to yield before leaving the private drive.
