A mining employment and hiring forecast and report is aiming to help companies better understand the workforce needs.
The Far Northeast Training Board is working on a report to help companies and businesses understand the needs of the industry and develop workforce and labour adjustment strategies. Executive Director Julie Joncas says the board is collecting information from local mines on how many workers they have and how many they might need within the next 10 years.
Joncas says this way the board could promote the opportunities available and ensure people are getting the proper skills needed.
The final report is expected to come out in February.
