Lyola Denault found dead – updated

The car belonging to missing 84-year old Lyola Denault has been found. Police received a call that the car had been seen in the Evelyn Township in Timmins, and after investigating they determined it did belong to Denault. They searched the area along with the OPP but he has not been found. Denault has been missing since September 4th, and anyone who has seen him, or with information is being asked to call the Police at 705 264 1201.

Update on missing person Lyola Denault from the Timmins Police: 

On Sunday, September 21, 2014, the vehicle of missing person Lyola Denault, 84, of Timmins was located North of Connaught, near Ice Chest Lake. 

Following the discovery of the vehicle, a search of the area was completed by the Timmins Police Service’s Emergency Response Team, the Ontario Provincial Police’s K-9 unit and helicopter, and numerous volunteers from Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue. Police can confirm that the missing person Lyola Denault was located deceased during the evening of September 22, 2014.

A postmortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday September 24th 2014 in Sudbury to determine cause of death. At this point, police do not suspect foul play.

The Timmins Police Service would like to thank the Ontario Provincial Police, along with Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue, the Ministry of Natural Resources, and members of the public and media for their assistance in this investigation.
