Murder Trial Continues

A five year old murder trial is still going on in Timmins this week. 30-year old Byron Spence has been charged with first degree murder in connection to the shooting of his half brother, Jonah Trapper, in 2009. Spence allegedly shot his brother in the back, and then left the scene where he was bleeding. Spence pled not guilty to the charges, saying the shooting was accidental, with his citing mental illness in court yesterday. The prosecution has wrapped up its case, and the Timmins Superior Court judge says Spence is under no obligation to testify. The decision if the defence will call any evidence is expected to come down today.
