New Chamber President Sworn In

The new President for the Timmins Chamber of Commerce has been sworn in. At the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting Wednesday night, Al Thorne, a chief forester for Tembec, officially took over for outgoing President Phil Barton. Thorne says his goals for the year are to keep working on collaboration and co-operation with the many businesses in town. He says we’re in a good place in town to succeed, and the primary strengths are the people we work with, and the community we live in. Thorne also says the Chamber will be also be focusing on workforce challenges, energy growth, professional development, and networking.
