The Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue is looking for a new home.
At council on Monday, TPSAR representatives requested to use the Whitney Fire Hall after the department moves to the new EMS Complex at Northern College. TPSAR says the space would be great to use for training, to hold meetings and to store all of its equipment. The organization adds that having everything housed in one location would ensure a quick response time when it’s called for a search.
City council responded to the idea positively. Council will discuss this further after staff look into this possibility.
