Ground Search Suspended in Missing Person Case

A ground search has been suspended for missing Timmins man Christopher Rivers.

The Timmins Police Service says despite efforts from the Emergency Response Team, Timmins Porcupine Search and Rescue and OPP helicopter and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, the search on Friday and Saturday showed negative results.

The 44-year-old man was reported missing on August 28th, and was last seen in Timmins on August 29th. Police say the vehicle he was believed to be driving was found abandoned on Murphy Road.

Rivers is described as a white man, about five foot 10, approximately 190 pounds, with a medium build, wavy light brown hair, blue eyes and unshaven facial hair.

If you have any related information to this investigation, you are asked to call Constable Carter of the Criminal Investigations Section at 705-264-1201 ext. 8204.
