TPS Officer Charged with Impaired Driving

A Timmins Police officer has been charged with impaired driving.  The officer is 38 year-old David Starcevic, who had been temporarily demoted for two incidents of neglect of duty. He was found guilty under the Police Services Act for improper storage of his gun, and improper note taking. He also had to take a two week suspension without pay in an earlier incident for sending inappropriate text messages to other officers. Starcevic will appear in court at the end of the month to answer to the impaired charges.
