You could own your own corner gas.
The City of Timmins is writing off the uncollected taxes of 25 thousand dollars on the closed gas station on the corner of Wilson Avenue and Cameron Street. City council has approved a motion to re-tender the commercial property with a minimum bid of $1,000, after the initial tender of $20,000 had no takers.
City Treasurer Jim Howie says the finance department wants to get the property off the books because the city has no interest in it.
