This year’s Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival will have plenty of firsts.
Tourism Timmins says the 9th annual event is hosting Canada and Ontario 150 celebrations with performers through the ONtour Concert Series. Manager of Tourism Guy Lamarche says there will also be more local attractions including a chainsaw carver that has donated a coffee table in the shape of a black bear to be raffled off for Community Living Timmins.
Lamarche says it’s great to have more events and attractions become part of the festival.
He adds there are people from all over Canada, as far away as British Columbia, signed up for the kayak races.
The event runs from August 25th to 27th at Participark.
