The Kidney Foundation is celebrating 50 years of service this weekend. Timmins will be having a Kidney Walk and motorcycle ride to raise money for the foundation, which will have a good portion of the proceeds going into the Timmins office. Marlene Smith, President of the Timmins-Porcupine Chapter of the Kidney Foundation, says there is a need for it here, with the office needing equipment and staff. The foundation is hoping to raise eight-hundred and fifty-thousand dollars throughout September to support those living with kidney disease. Visit kidneywalk.ca for more information on the walk and ride.
