Get rid of any hazardous waste this weekend at no charge. The city is hosting its annual hazardous and special waste collection day this Saturday in the Archie Dillon Sportsplex parking lot. You can toss out things like paint, aerosol cans, batteries, and household electronics.
Manager of Environmental Services Scott Tam says the goal of the collection day is to keep dangerous waste from getting into landfills, and potentially making its way into the water table.
The collection runs from 8:00am until 2:00pm.
