A $1.5 million donation from the City of Timmins has helped the Timmins and District Hospital purchase some much needed equipment.
The hospital was able to use that money to purchase a new CT Scan. The hospital says this is a high end scanner that can run 24 hours a day and perform over 10 thousand scans a year. Mayor Steve Black says having high end equipment will help the hospital recruit and retain staff and help the hospital become a regional hub for healthcare.
The new scanner is part of the John P. Larche Medical Imaging and Cardiopulmonary Department.
