The Best for Breasts fundraiser is kicking off their fifth annual golf tournament. The August 15th and 16th event is in support of the Timmins and District Hospital becoming an Ontario Breast Program Assessment Centre.
Four physicians at the hospital were announced Tuesday as sponsors for the event. Dr. Allison Shaikh, Dr. Karina Bukhanov, and Dr. Robert Loeb are pictured, with Dr. Marc Freeman as an additional sponsor, but not in the photo.
To date, the tournament has raised $485,000, and this years goal is to raise $150,000 for a breast imaging centre.
The women’s health unit sees over 8000 patients every year, as it is the only breast imaging centre available in Timmins.
