May is now known as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the City of Timmins.
The Timmins and Area Women in Crisis will be holding a few awareness campaigns throughout the month to raise awareness about consent.Communications Coordinator Becky Mason says it is very important to have conversations about what consent and sexual assault really is.
Mason says their biggest campaigns is chalking the town.
Everyone is encouraged to wear the sexual assault awareness colour purple on Friday and participate in Denim Day of My 26th to show your support for this ongoing issue.
