News Timmins Honours the National Day of Mourning SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Friday, Apr. 28th, 2017 Flags at City of Timmins facilities will be flying at half mast today in honour of the National Day of Mourning. This day is set aside every year to remember and honour those who have lost their lives or have been injured in the workplace. Mayor Steve Black says it is important to recognize this day and also keep health and safety in the workplace at the forefront of our minds. The Timmins and District Labour Council will hold a ceremony commemorating those lost at the Miners Memorial starting at 11:00am.
