Northern municipalities will now be responsible for inspection of their apartments and septic systems.
The most recent meeting for the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities focused on a number of issues including responsibility of apartment rentals, inspections and how to reduce fossil fuel use. FONOM President Alan Spacek says municipalities will now be taking on a few different responsibilities.
Spacek says FONOM is not happy with the added responsibility, as well as added costs, which used to be a provincial matter.
