A new hospice centre is now open at the Timmins and District Hospital.
This centre, within the hospital, has four beds where people can end their life in a comfortable and home like setting. Registered Nurse Chrissy Barbuto says not only is this a peaceful place for the patients, but also a comfortable place for the family to spend some last moments with their loved one.
Mayor Steve Black says the hospital has made the centre as comfortable and home like as possible.
Barbuto says having a separate hospice centre away from the rest of the hospital gives the nurses the time to really take care of everyone in the unit.
