Students in the Police Foundations program at Northern College will now get a more hands on education.

The Timmins Police Service has donated one of its cruisers to the schools program. Program Coordinator Mack Pettigrew says giving the students a hands on education will allow them to learn first hand what it takes to be a police officer.

John Adams, a police foundations student, says he is very excited to use a real police cruiser as part of his classes.

Pettigrew adds that having a strong partnership with local police and the proper tools proves that you don’t have to travel south to get good quality policing education.
