News A Syrian Refugee Family is on Their Way to Timmins SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Thursday, Mar. 9th, 2017 A Syrian refugee family will soon be calling Timmins home. After waiting for over a year, the Timmins and District Multicultural Centre says a family of five is on its way here. Sponsorship Committee Chairperson Tom Baby says they are getting everything ready for when the family arrives. //www.mytimminsnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/refugee-1.mp3 Baby says once the family gets here, they can begin to orient the family and get them the proper supplies, food and medical attention they may need. He adds that Timmins and the community can now say that we played a part in relief efforts for worst humanitarian crisis since the end of the second world war. The family will be arriving sometime within the month.
