News Council Votes for CDSSAB Funding Change SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Monday, Mar. 6th, 2017 Photo Credit: Mackenzie Read A unanimous vote by Timmins City Council is endorsing a funding model change for the Cochrane and District Social Services Administrative Board. A change in the funding formula could mean over one million dollars in savings for Timmins taxpayers. Mayor Steve Black says the new model would have each community in C-DSSAB paying for the amount of services it uses. //www.mytimminsnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/dssab-2.mp3 He adds that this is not a change in the amount of services each community receives, just strictly funding. Black says this change needs a double majority vote from the C-DSSAB, meaning at least seven of the 12 municipalities needs to approve the change. C-DSSAB communities have until March 16th to decide.
