Glencore building wind turbines at remote arctic mine

Glencore is trying to reduce its environmental footprint by building wind turbines at a remote mine in the Arctic. The Raglan nickel mine is exposed to harsh conditions and Glencore is trying to determine if wind energy can power the mine. Right now the site is fueled by diesel. Glencore is building one wind turbine this summer and if the pilot works, then the plan is to build up to five more turbines in two years. The company wants to cut its dependency on diesel by 50 percent.
