The hydro rate reduction plan by the Wynne Liberals is getting a passing grade from the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities.
FONOM says the 25 per cent cut plus keeping rate increases to the rate of inflation for the next four years shows the Liberals are committed to addressing the issue of unaffordable electricity costs.
FONOM has pressed the Liberals for years to provide electricity relief to households and businesses. The lobby group adds it will want to see more details of the plan to ensure all sectors get some energy relief.
