Three Timmins groups are being recognized for their conservation efforts. The three are the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Timmins Golden Nugget Conservation Club and Club Richelieu of Timmins. The two clubs have been involved in work involving Gillies Lake while the MNR has provided education programs. The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority and the Wintergreen Fund for Conservation are bestowing the recognition on the three groups.
