Photo: Supplied by Taylor Ablett - Moose FM Seven people have been charged for various violations on the Timmins snowmobile trails. On Saturday, the Timmins Police Service gave tickets to those without proper trail permits, licenses and altered mufflers. Communication Coordinator Marc Depatie says it’s important to have all documents with you when you hit the trails. Depatie says this allows police to ensure that all the snowmobiles are properly insured and belong to the people riding them. In terms of altered mufflers, Depatie says snowmobiles can’t have altered mufflers for safety requirements. He says this also ensures that the mufflers will not disturb residents by being too loud. Police are reminding all snowmobilers to have trail permits clearly visible on the vehicle and all documents on hand before hitting the trails.
