News Timmins Sears Closing for Good SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Tuesday, Jan. 31st, 2017 The Timmins Sears location will be permanently closing its doors July 23rd. The company will not be renewing its lease this year due to a lack of inventory to fill the store. Sears Canada Spokesperson Vincent Power says the Timmins location is an outlet store that sells the surplus inventory from the Sears catalogue at a reduced price. Power says the company’s new inventory management systems have greatly reduced the number of surplus items for the outlet stores. Power adds that the company will be maintaining a merchandise pick-up location in Timmins for online orders with the location to be announced in the near future. He says the 62 employees be given a separation package and the option to transfer and re-locate providing positions in other stores become available.
