Crime Stoppers is asking you to not post your tips on their social media pages. OPP Constable Michelle Simard says no matter how well-intentioned you are, as soon as you identify yourself the tip can’t be used. Simard says their promise is to protect your identity and posting on social media compromises that. She adds that they count on public information for solving crimes and it would be a shame for that information to be unusable. The proper way to submit tips is to call Crime Stoppers or submit them online here.
