Council One Step Closer to Installing a Crosswalk at St. Mary’s

A crosswalk on Pine Street North at Saint Mary’s Gardens in Timmins is in the works. City Director of Public Works Luc Duval gave his recommendation to city council, to put out a request for engineering designs.
Duval says the designs and installation will cost about $100,000. He says this money would come out of the 2017 rout and seal program.
Councillor Pat Bamford says this crosswalk is needed considering the 101 Business Centre across the street holds many things that the seniors need to access, like doctors offices and a bank.
Council will bring this issue back for a vote next month.
