News Police Give Warmer Weather Driving Tips SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Friday, Jan. 20th, 2017 Even though the roads are clear, police are reminding you to drive cautiously. The Timmins Police Service warns that melting snow can cause driving hazards. Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie says black ice is very common with this weather. Depatie says it’s quite common to not realize that you are on black ice until you’ve lost control of your vehicle. He adds that just because you can’t see it, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Depatie says you should also watch out for things that can obscure your vision like freezing rain and salt and sand splashes.
