Looking to Break the Silence

A local man is striving to help survivors of male sexual abuse reach out and get the support they need. Ray Auclair is raising money to build his second awareness billboard and place this one Cochrane. Auclair says it is important that people break the silence and get the help they need. He says he is spearheading the project because he went through this and kept it inside for 44 years, and the only thing that does is make you suffer in silence.
Auclair will be hosting a Timmins-Cochrane old timers hockey game at the Tim Horton Event Centre in Cochrane on January 28th to raise the money for the billboard. The sign costs about $3,000 dollars. He says all the money from ticket sales, a silent auction and chuck-a-puck will go towards the cost. Tickets can be purchased at Heaveners Variety and Lawson Laundromat in Cochrane.
