Driving on a closed highway isn’t just dangerous, it could also land you a fine. Northern OPP detachments are issuing an advisory to drivers to stay off closed highways. Police say they will close down highways during bad weather because they’re too dangerous to drive on. Deciding to drive on a closed down highway can result in a $110 fine and three demerit points on your license.
