City Engineer Hoping to Kick-Start Road Projects

Timmins City Engineer Luc Duval is asking city council if he can issue tenders for 2017 road repair jobs before council has approved the spending budget. Duval is asking council to give him a head-start of 60 per cent or roughly $8-million of the city’s capital works budget. He believes getting tenders out for big projects like the connecting link for Highway 101 between Schumacher and South Porcupine early will help the city get a better price and get work done more quickly.
