It’s a happy ending for two young men who were thrown in the Grassy River Saturday night when their canoe capsized. The 18 and 19-year-olds were found safe and sound mid morning Sunday by a marine unit from the Timmins Fire Department. The teens were canoeing with a group Saturday evening when their canoe overturned. The Grassy River was moving too fast for the other canoeists to rescue the pair so emergency services were contacted. Timmins police say the pair made it to shore and commended the boys for staying put until the rescue party located them.
