Police Arrest Two Men for Impaired Driving and Drug Possession

People are reminded to have a safe ride home after two people were arrested for driving impaired on Christmas Eve. Interim Communications Coordinator with the Timmins Police Service Marc Depatie says the first arrest was made after police received a complaint in the downtown core. The vehicle was located and the suspect was found to be in the possession of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine. Depatie says the 21 year-old has been charged with six impaired driving and drug related charges.

The second arrest was conducted when a 48 year-old man refused to give an officer a breath sample and was also allegedly in possession of controlled substances.
The two men have been released on a promise to appear in Provincial Court on January 10th.
