Timmins Police Help Residents in Need

The Timmins Police Service gave residents in need a cash boost thanks to a local business man. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, gave TPS officers Constable Tambeau and Constable Osborne $1,000 to give to those who they believe could use it the most.

Interim Communications Coordinator with TPS Marc Depatie says the two decided to give the money out in $50 increments. He says one of the recipients is expecting a child and both her and her son are looking for housing, Constable Osborne was able to find a man who had to miss a day of classes because he was at home washing the only pair of pants he owns and another man can now buy a new pair of winter boots because he was found wearing summer shoes with gaping holes in the sides.

It is hoped that the generosity of this local business man will help those in need over the holidays.
