Northern Ontario group appears in conservation film series

A Northern Ontario group trying to keep river systems healthy, is featured in a documentary series about conservation.  In the film, the chair of Ontario Rivers Alliance explains how hydroelectric power development is a major issue for river ecosystems.  Linda Heron says before pursuing renewable energy generation, we need to know how that affects rivers, fisheries, wetlands and clean water.  Heron adds the public and First Nations also need to be consulted on what trading off our ecosystems for renewable energy entails.  To watch the film, go online to www.fieldworktv.com and go to episode two.
