Economics professor says Thibeault should resign as energy minister

A long-time economics professor at Laurentian University in Sudbury says Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault should resign as energy minister.  David Robinson says the portfolio demands a solid understanding of electrical generation and believes Thibeault is hopelessly over his head.  The auditor general says cap and trade will cost us $8 billion by 2020 but will only hit 20 percent of Ontario’s emissions reduction target.  Despite this, Thibeault continues to say cap and trade will lower energy costs and emissions.  Robinson says Thibeault’s comments are so off base that they’re irresponsible.  Robinson says cap and trade is a disaster for Ontario but adds Thibeault just doesn’t get it.  The professor adds it’s clear Thibeault doesn’t under the electricity market or cap and trade and should resign for everyone’s sake.
