Doug Shearer is back as chair of the District School Board Ontario North East. Shearer was acclaimed to the post as was vice chair Bob Brush. The elections took place during the board’s inaugural meeting on Tuesday. Brush, who is the trustee for the Timmins area, says the board faces challenges in the future. And Shearer agrees, saying a major job next year is replacing Linda Knight, the education director who retires several months from now.
