Sudbury police constables demoted for discreditable conduct

Two Sudbury police officers have gone from being first class constables to fourth class.  The demotions against Christopher Lebreche and Kathryn Howard are the result of both pleading guilty to discreditable conduct under the Police Services Act.  The husband and wife were charged under the Act and also Criminal Code for fraud in connection with false health claims being filed.  Earlier this year Lebreche was found guilty for the criminal fraud charge and the Crown withdrew charges against his wife.  Sudbury Police Chief Paul Pederson says it’s never a proud moment when an officer is guilty of breaching the department’s Code of Conduct.
