Northern College president believes emergency services complex will benefit several groups

Fred Gibbons, the president and CEO of Northern College in Timmins, is feeling pretty good these days.  Gibbons was reacting to news that the college will get a new Emergency Services Complex thanks to an $11-million federal and provincial grant.  Gibbons says the state of the art facility will create a superior learning environment for the school’s Pre-Service Firefighting Training program.  Also a beneficiary of the complex is the college’s Paramedic and Police Foundations programs.  Gibbons adds the integrated nature of the complex will help support research and innovation work at Northern.  Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre announced the multi-million dollar project in town last Friday.
