Northern College gets $11-million for new complex

Northern College in Timmins will soon be home to an Integrated Emergency Services Complex.  The complex includes training labs and simulation rooms for specialized training to create an interactive learning environment for students.  The complex will be built thanks to an $11-million grant split evenly by the federal and provincial governments.  The complex will also help keep Northern sustainable because the construction will incorporate energy efficient designs.  Once in operation, the complex should help improve collaboration with existing emergency services responders in the city.  It’s hoped that the complex will also increase student placement in emergency services.
